AVEDISIAN GRABS NARROW RUNNER-UP FINISH AT DELTA SPEEDWAY

CLOVIS, CALIFORNIA (April 22, 2019) – Jade Avedisian nearly went two-for-two to open the season at Delta Speedway presented by Financial Center Credit Union on Saturday night, taking a narrow second place finish in the Restricted 25 lap feature. Avedisian was looking to add to her victory in the season-opening WoO Weekend Special in March.

The 12 year-old driver is off to her strongest start of her career in the #14J Driven Chassis. She finished fourth in the prestigious Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma in January, then won in March at Delta Speedway. She followed that with a win in the season opener at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia and a third place finish during the Jet Bowl Classic at Lemoore Raceway.

Avedisian was third quickest out of 30 entrants in hot laps, then timed in fourth in time trials. The night continued to go her way on the 1/7th mile dirt oval when she won heat race #4 over fellow female Jr. Sprint graduate Isabel Barnes.

She started the 20 car, 25 lap feature from third and immediately jumped up to second position. She tried to chase down race leader Logan Trevino in lapped traffic and nearly grabbed the lead before a lap ten caution.

Avedisian hounded Trevino through restarts on lap 16 and 22, pulling up alongside of him several times. Trevino went on for a victory of three car lengths with Avedisian in second and Devon Cortnier rounding out the all-Driven Chassis podium finishers.

With momentum on her side, Avedisian will be heading into this weekend’s double header with a great opportunity for big performances. Friday night will be a return trip to Plaza Park Raceway before Saturday’s jaunt at Lemoore Raceway.

It will be an exciting weekend for the team with Jade’s father Ryan traveling to Australia to race with Jake Hagopian of Driven Chassis. Driven Chassis drivers Cole and Cody Christensen will take Ryan’s place as the crew chiefs on Jade’s car, marking the first time she has competed without her dad on the wrenches.

Jade would like to thank her sponsors CMT, Xtreme Products, Driven Performance, Garlock Collision, and Impact for their support.
